Cohabitation Agreement

A cohabitation agreement is a civil contract between two people who want to live together and not get married.

It is similar to a marriage contract and contains regulations about the division of assets and the maintenance calculation at the end of a relationship.

This option includes one joint session and a cohabitation agreement.

The total cost is R 11,150, shared equally between the parties, with each party having to pay R5,575 (see attached quotation).

Each session lasts 2 hours
Each party is responsible for 50% of the total fees
The total fees must be paid before mediation can start for the following reasons:
- It eliminates non-payment being used as a stalling tactic during mediation
- Paying per session typically leads to more sessions and higher costs
- It motivates the parties to reach an agreement and stay within budget

A refund of 100% will apply to unused sessions if the parties successfully sign the legal documents.
