Mediation Option 3

This option is for parties who agree on all divorce matters, including the division of assets, spousal and child maintenance, and a parenting plan for the children.

The total cost of this mediation option is R20 750, shared equally between the parties, with each party having to pay R10,375 (see the attached quotation).

This option includes two individual sessions, one joint session, and a divorce settlement agreement, with a parenting plan and maintenance court order optional.

The structure will be as follows:

Joint Session 1
  • Each session lasts 2 hours
  • Each party is responsible for 50% of the total fees
  • The total fees must be paid before mediation can start for the following reasons:
    • It eliminates non-payment being used as a stalling tactic during mediation
    • Paying per session typically leads to more sessions and higher costs
    • It motivates the parties to reach an agreement and stay within budget

A refund of 100% will apply to unused sessions if the parties successfully sign the legal documents.
